Why don’t we write a petition to Saudi Arabia and ask them to push back Eid to next week?
I don’t want Ramadan to end yet. :(
my dad had a friend who passed away about 5 Ramadans ago.
When it first happened, we went to their house. And they were cleaning and we were helping, since after the burial people would be stopping by and all.
So one of the daughters was cleaning like the China cabinets thing and found a bowl of Arab sweets (kunafa) covered in foil. So she brought it out and showed it to her mom, asking her if she should throw it out.
And then the mom started crying and when she could breathe again, she told my mom, “at taraweeh a few nights ago they were giving those sweets out. I dont make much sweets at home since I don’t have the time, and I know how much my husband loves kunafa. So I brought him a plate a hid it, so the kids don’t eat it.”
lol my dad’s so mean.
for suhoor at the masjid every year he always does this one trick.
like last year, he was like, “anybody want some more chocolate chip muffins?”
and everyone was like, “what? more? I didn’t know there even was any!”
and they lined up to where he was at, and my dad was like, “what muffins? there arent any.”
(there were no muffins obvi, my dad made it up).
this year, he was like “anyone want some mango juice?”
and everyone grabbed their cups and lined up to where he was at and my dad just goes, “yeah, I want some mango juice too.”
and he does this all the time and people actually fall for it lol.
So a friend of mine and I went into the city to have iftar at this restaurant.
And one of the ladies who was working there is a Muslimah hijabi about 35 years old. She asked if she could sit with us and have iftar so she wouldn’t have to eat alone. And while we were sitting, she asked, “What do you want to do with your life?”
and I went into the whole graduate college and maybe go into therapy school possibly and blah blah and she just cut me off and said, “No. That’s not what I’m asking. You’re young. What do you want to do with your life?”
And I didn’t know how to answer that. Nobody’s ever asked me that before.

you know how in the salah al witr (last rakkah/prayer of Taraweeh) the sheikh does duaa?
yeah it’s pretty funny when people forget and you see them going in for a riqoo3 when it’s supposed to be a sajdah lol.
gosh some people are SO RUDE.
you know how when you’re praying you have to put your foot next to the person next to you’s foot? okay so I was praying and I put my foot next to the lady next to me’s foot and she just like yanked her foot back.
whaddahell.
and yeah I was wearing clean socks so…chill out lady.
I don’t know why but whenever my mom sits down during Taraweeh I get real sad.
I mean I know she’s getting old and all, but it almost feels like someone dropped an ice cube down my back.
Fasting may be hard.
But I know that in Africa it’s hotter than Jersey’s 90 degree weather.
I have AC.
I had suhoor this morning.
and at 8:21 inshAllah I will have iftar.
